Dear Diary...

My brother is making me feel really frustrated. He keeps on telling me that I am going to burn in Hell because I do not praise God. He thinks he isn't threatening me, when he really is. I wish he would stop this, because he is hurting my feelings. I guess it isn't too surprising, you know. Us humans are like packs of wolves who kick those who are not like us out. It just isn't right, you know? I don't like how some Christians are against people who aren't Christians. Perhaps if people tried being more accepting of differences more often, the world would be a better place.  Instead of scorning each other's differences, we should see them as something to explore and learn from. Speaking of differences, I am thinking of majoring in Anthropology when I go to college. It seems like it would be a very fascinating to study, in my opininon.

If you're curious, anthropology is the study of the orgions and social relationships of human beings. It's a social science, like psychology and sociology. Psychology, which also fascinates me, is the study of the human mind. Sociology is the study of human societies. That sounds very intriguing as well. I guess the reason why I am so interested in it is because it has to do with humans. And even though I am not the most social person, I am fascinated with how humans work. It's partially why I enjoy people watching so much. It also explains why I like personality theory so much.

However, that is not the whole picture. I think the Bigger Picture of why I study personaltiy theory is because it helps finding out my psychological types on personality tests helps me gain more self awareness of myself. Since I am on journey to find my true self, it helps. Speaking of personality theory, my most favorite one is the MBTI.

If you are wondering what that is, it is a personality theory that deals with four preferences. These four preferences are Introversion or Extroversion, Sensing or Intuition, Feeling or Thinking, and Perceiving and Judging. Introversion or Extroversion deals with where you get your energy. If you prefer Introversion, you get your energy from solitude. If you prefer Extroversion, you get energy from spending time with others.

Sensing or Intuition preferences deal with how you prefer to process or gain your information. If you prefer Sensing, you prefer to rely on your five senses more often than not. You prefer concrete examples to theroetical ones, and trust your experience more than hunches. You prefer details and specifics to vagueness and generalities. If you prefer Intuiting, you prefer to rely on hunches or freelings more than your five senses. You actually prefer theroetical examples to concrete ones, and yoP trust your concepts more than your experiences.

Feeling and Thinking preferences deal with how you prefer to make decisions. If you prefer Feeling, you prefer making decisions based on how you feel on them, or how it will affect others. If you prefer Thinking, you prefer making decisions based on what seems logical, and what makes sense. Now, don't be fooled. If you are a Feeler, it doesn't not mean you are overly emotional. If you are a Thinker, it doesn't mean you are heartless either.

Perceiving and Judging preferences deal with how you prefer to structure your life. If you prefer Perceiving, you prefer to be less structured. You would rather adapt to situations rather than knowing what you are getting into, and are flexible enough to adapt at the last minute. You like to keep your options open when making a decision. Your communicating style is informative, which means you are more likely to say "There is no milk in the refrigurator." rather than "Please go to the grocery store and buy some milk." which is a directing communication style. Judgers, on the other hand, generally prefer the directing style. They would rather get to know what they are getting into instead of just adpating to situations, and prefer making decisions as soon as possible, because that gives them closure.

There is also the functions theory, but I don't feel like going into detail on that. If you are curious about it, you can ask me about that. Personally, I think I am a ISFP or INFP. Still, I can't be sure until I take the real test. I hope it turns out to be one of those two, because I like those psychological types.
